A flagship project of the municipality of Esch-sur-Alzette and the country's first major concert hall, the Rockhal has quickly become a key event on the Luxembourg and international music scene.

The stakes were high, the objectives are multiple : to ensure an essential functionality, to think of a building at the level of the great names who have succeeded each other for almost 15 years, but also to design a remarkable and sustainable place, a real cornerstone of the Belval rehabilitation project.

Monumental dimensions

The Rockhal is located south of the Hauts Fourneaux enclosure, which testifies to Belval's industrial past. The two main rooms are monolithic reinforced concrete blocks that fit into each other. To properly accommodate the largest international productions, the large hall and its capacity of 4,000 spectators offers a free height of 17 metres. The walls are made of in-situ concrete and are 50 centimetres thick. Administrative and storage facilities, rehearsal rooms, as well as a Rocklab for young musicians and even a room for workshops complete the ensemble.

Exceptional location and quality services

Ideally located on the Belgian, French and German borders, the Rockhal is home to an international and multicultural audience, who flock to each event in this friendly, airy and intimate setting. But the Rockhal also hosts corporate events. More than a concert hall, it is above all a place to meet, share, learn and celebrate!
