“In discussing the design, it is important to have no fixed expectations about the outcome. The dream house is planned together, by talking to the client. So it is clear that the overriding idea of “working with you” is no mere flowery marketing slogan but the sine qua non of all project development. There can be no question of “one size fits all”. For the architect, this means primarily listening, asking questions, holding back, getting to know the fabric of the family. Only in this way can he gain a rounded picture of the situation that they hope to achieve, taking account of all the complexities; he needs to understand the lives and daily routines of his clients, in order to offer them appropriate solutions. This is only possible with great openness, sensitivity… and trust.”
